Check presentation and a visitor from South Africa
On Thursday, 08.09.2011, there were two events in Frankfurt. Zemira and Helmut Hörnschemeyer and Mark Grace picked up our South African friend Josia Mokgoadi from Frankfurt airport. Josia is a runner, we know from last year as he played a major role as part of our project with terre de hommes eV in Africa. His greatest desire was to run a marathon in Europe. We have granted him this wish with private funds. Josia will be our guest for three weeks, and take part in the Münster (stage 2 of our peace run) and Berlin Marathons.
In the afternoon, John McGurk and Gertrud Kösters on invitation from Mr. Herbert Mai, Personnel Director, Board Member and patron to the Fraport-run were also in Frankfurt. Mr. Mai had the pleasurable job of passing on a sum of 24.000, - € to various organizations. The sponsor DEVK Insurance Group, presented a check to John McGurk over 1.000, - €. This money we are forwarding on to the “New York Police and Fire Widows and Children's Benefit Fund”, after the 3rd Stage of our peace run (New York City Marathon) on 07.11.2011 and the laying of a wreath at Ground Zero.
