Message of Peace for New York - John in NYC

To send the message of peace and organize the wreath-laying ceremony in conjunction with the New York Marathon in early November, John flew for five days in the U.S.. In the “Big Apple” where he had meetings with the mayor, the German Embassy and the Firefighters, many of which were involved and died in the rescue work following the attack on the World Trade Center. These were exhausting days for John, but the effort was worth it.

On the 6th of November he will run together with Sven Kösters and other members of Sportler 4 a childrens world e.V. and the Münster-Marathon Association the NY City Marathon. Following this then deliver the message of peace to  the City of New York, a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the tragedy of ten years and the presentation of a donation to the "New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund."

In the five days John met, amongst others members of the NY Fire Department, with whom he on the 7th  November will lay the wreath at Ground Zero. He also found new friends in Sheerham John, one of the heroes of 9 / 11, whose photo went around the world, and Dennis Krupp, who helped non-stop for three months by the rescue and clean-up (see photos).

Detailed information to the project "peace message" can be found here.
