2nd stage of the peace run for 9/11
Dear friends,
we are starting the 2nd stage of the peace run for 9/11 and the message of goodwill for New York City. over 8,000 athletes from 30 nationalities will anticipate the volksbank Muenster Marathon on the 11th of September, together with the peace runners from sportler 4 a childrens world, national and international VIPs will hold a minutes silence at 08:46.
Our friend, the Berlin and New York City Marathon winner Tegla Leroup will announce the moment of solidarity. As the Marathon starts Sven Koesters, Sven Zelaz John McGurk will run the Marathon with the message of goodwill for NYC.
I will also be wearing an arm bracelet and carrying a small stone from Ground Zero. Both belong to Captain Vinnie Giammona, he was a passionate runner and always wanted to run a Marathon, his wish was to run the New York City Marathon in November 2001. He was a Fire Fighter and a Hero.
He gave his life saving that of many on 9/11. One may believe in God or not, I do and I believe I can take Vinnie with me therefore I asked his sister to send me something personally over to me in Germany. It is more than an honor for me to fulfill his last wish by wearing his Bracelet and carrying a part of Ground Zero.
