S4acw e.V. and the slightly different training event
On Sunday, 17.04.2011 Sven Köster, Mark Grace and Zemira and Helmut Hörnschemeyer made there way to the Nürburgring (Formula 1 race course). A race was on the program, not on four wheels, as could be expected, but a nearly 20 km long run (2 laps of 9,8 km) “decorated” with somewhat more unusual obstacles.

... so the name of this increasingly popular event. Although, speed and top times are an issue, the fun factor still plays for the majority of the participants a very predominant part. Nearly 11,000 runners started at 12:00 clock and the fastest runner had after 1 hour and 21 minutes reached the finish. Other runners on the other hand crawled even hours later over straw walls, through water, mud baths, car tires and other strange obstacles.

... and where as Sven took a little less than 2 h, to reach his target Mark came in about 15 minutes later (2h 11mins). Sven's brother Tim (s4acw-member) was among the runners and also had great deal of fun.
I am almost sure that next year we will again see runners from our club take part in this event, You can register now (Mark and Sven are already registered) because it will definitely be repeated the only question is where? Which speaks again for the character of this highly entertaining , and a little different running event.
